Everything worked perfect
Light weight ..portable with many ports. It's a solid little hub. I bought it to use with my 2018 XPS laptop. I don't see why one would get a hub if it doesn't have every possible port one could use. Otherwise, you may end up buying more than one hub. That's why I went for this one. My hobby is photo ,video editing, so I have lots of device and gadgets to transfer data to my computer. The hub feels premium quality and solid build. I’m sure this portable device will last me years to come. It has 4 usb ports ( 2- USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0), 1 SD card slot, 1 micro SD card, 1 HDMI port, 1 VGA , 1 USB C port and 1 Ethernet port. I could transfer my files from my phone, camera, tablet, external hard drives, SD cards, drone, at the same time without switching one port to another. It also comes with a soft carrying case. Portable ..light weight..Amazing ! Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed
Super useful USB-C multi-hub Bought this to replace my last hub which sadly lacked a passthrough USB charging port. This one has a few more ports besides that as well with additional USB ports (3.0 and 2.0) along with ether net and HDMI, VGA and 2 SD card readers. Now... The VGA bit I'll admit seems perhaps a little archaic but everything else is spot on. Guess it's a bit like that 1 tool in a Swiss army knife you never use like the nail file or something. Good to know it's there if you ever wind up needing one. I do like this brand. The build quality is really nice. It's light and compact, and the connecter cables are always sturdy and high quality. Highly recommended.
I was looking for a USB-C hub that had compatibility and functionality with the newest iPad Pro (2018), after I had updated the iOS to the latest iPadOS (aka iOS 13) beta 4 public version. In the product description, it says this USB-C hub is not compatible with the iPad Pro 2018, but my update to the latest beta iPadOS/iOS 13 reveals otherwise. It was important the USB-C hub have Power Delivery (PD) charging (with 30W PD for my iPad Pro), it be compatible with my Samsung T5 SSD external hard drive, and I could use the hub to connect my iPad Pro to my mechanical keyboard with its USB wired connection. I also wanted a hub that’d be future proof for the next USB-C laptop I get from Apple. (I am currently using a MacBook Pro 15” Retina, which does not have USB-C). Happy to say everything works really well and consistently with my iPad. I have attached pictures for different set ups I use with my iPad Pro (with Smart Case resting flat on the table, and in landscape and portrait modes on a metal stand). The build of the USB-C hub is light yet solid with a nice aluminum “space greyish” finish. The pouch it comes with has a separate internalized sleeve to house the attached cable, which is a nice touch to prevent any scratching of the hub. I also tested the iPad with its HDMI connection to a 1080p monitor. It worked well mirroring what the iPad was displaying. (I couldn’t test the VGA connection and I don’t have a higher resolution monitor.) I did notice that my mechanical keyboard (with micro-USB to USB-A) only worked when attached to the USB 3.0 ports, not the USB 2.0 ports.
Recently purchased a new MacBook Air for work...that's right, the one with two USB C ports, and that's it. I was essentially going to have to purchase some sort of port replicator / hub to manage doing anything save for charging my computer and I found this. The gist of it... this has far more ports than I was originally hoping for or considering. It pretty much covers everything I need it to, and then some... see also, room for growth. The review has taken me a bit of time to get to as I really didn't have a need or the means to test a few of the ports... but did enough now that I feel I can supply some feedback. The pros... this thing has all the ports... legit like. The unit is also very well constructed... far more dense, compact, and well constructed than I had anticipated. The cons... only one, and it's minimal. The unit will require external power to run things like external hard drives, especially if using more than just one. The other slight downfall, on similar grounds, is that the transfer speeds are a bit poor when moving from one external to another. Those cons... those aren't really an issue of this hub, but of ALL hubs. That said, it still get's a 5/5. it works!
Luxury accessory! I love it. As I am using my company's Macbook pro with all USB-C ports, I need a USB-C type hub with as many outputs as possible, since I don't want to buy another dongle just for whatever the hub is missing. However, it is just satisfied seeing this many ports in the hub: -2 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 ports, which are great since my Macbook pro does not come with any USB-A ports. -Micro SD card, and the big size for the adapter. This is my most favorite part of the product. I actually purchased another hub few months ago. However, the SD card slots didn't work. I never buy any cheap accessory product like that again. And this hub actually did its job. Great speed and it simply just work well. -1 USB-C port. I believe you can, and you should only plug in the charge cable into this port, since it shows the "plug" icon. Since I still have the other 3 USB-C ports on my Macbook, I don't think I would wanna plug any USB-C devices into this. However, saving 1 slot just for the charge cable, why not? :D -VGA: My least favorite part. Who even uses VGA port in 2019 xD However, I might need it one day, when all my monitor are broken suddenly, and I ended up had to borrow my grandpa's monitor... -HDMI: Pretty basic. But I don't normally see it on a hub. Another great port for this! -Ethernet: Another great one. Even though I always use Wi-Fi since it's a Macbook, sometimes I would need to download something heavy (up to hundreds off gigabyte, for work purpose), this is gonna come in handy. Overall, I love it. I think it's worth the money due to the various ports that it brings. However, if there is one thing I could change, I would definitely swap that VGA port for a mini/display port since it's more popular nowadays. But it's not a big deal since I can just directly plug in the USB-C to HDMI/DP to my monitor .
I'm AMAZED! I'm not sure what all I expected this gadget to do (because I'm leary of false claims) but this little gizmo is amazing. I plugged it into my laptop and it ran three usb sticks, a micro sd card and a standard size sd card--ALL AT THE SAME TIME! I then hooked the HDMI up to my TV and was astounded by the picture on my 70" TV. You can even add an external power supply to it so that it does not kill your laptop's battery when you have a bunch of stiff plugged into it. For me this is a life saver as my laptop has limited connectivity. I then tried it with a an adapter (usb male to usb c female on my desktop and although a bit slower (it was plugged into an older usb 2 socket) it still did everything the makers claimed it would do. You can't go wrong with this gadget!
Impressive device I was so excited to try this device. Unfortunately most of my computers do not have a type c hub, but the product very specially says the type, so be very sure you have a type C port (if you don’t know you probably don’t). So I bought a converter (usb to type c) but the converter didn’t work with it. Bummer. Did work with the HTC phone and could display onto my television via HDMI which was pretty cool. Card readers functioned. The network plug made us so I could access files on my work’s network. Pretty fancy. It’s lightweight but looks nice. Comes with a little pouch and a USB extender cable so you connect larger items easily. Definitely think this is useful and only caution that you make sure you have the correct port (and don’t use adapters as they didn’t work).
Excellent multi-faceted hub This is a do almost anything hub. 10 functions in 1. Works with devices using USB type C ports. 1. Easily connect to wired Ethernet with built in port 2. Connect to TV sets using a HDMI cable. Works flawlessly. 3 and 4. Read and write to built in SD cards and micro SD cards. Can even use both at once. Let’s you easily copy files from one disk to another. 5. Connect USB C to USB C power port on hub for pass through power charging. Recommended to connect cable from original manufacturers power plug 6,7,8,9. Has four USB ports, 2 are USB 2.0 and two are USB 3.x This means you can connect external hard drives, external SSD, mice, keyboard etc. If you have problems with mounting a hard disk drive, attach the power supply of your computer or other device to the power pass through port 10. Also includes a VGA port for VGA display devices All in all there are 10 useful ports to expand your device Tested with 2018 MacBook Pro computer and had no problems. Worked without problems Highly recommended
Very versatile USB 2.0, USB 3.0, C port, HDMI port, LAN & VGA I have an older external hard drive with valuable family photos on it and I recently hooked it up to my newer laptop. I hadn’t really paid attention to USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 until my external hard drive wasn’t recognized by my laptop. I had no idea the reason was I needed a USB 2.0 ADAPTER to allow my now USB 3.0 laptop recognize my older 2.0 USB drive. This hub is the perfect tool for those in need of various tech connections and memory card readers! Very versatile USB 2.0, USB 3.0, C port, HDMI port, LAN & VGA. These guys even thought of keeping the cords neat and separate from the unit while transporting the device. Very nice bag to keep it in and it keeps cords separate from the unit with a separate internal sleeve, which helps keep it from getting too banged up or scratched in transit. See my photos.
Light weight and satisfying all my needs This 10-in-1 usb-c hub is the perfect solution I have been looking for. After spending countless hub, i came across this sleek and compact hub. All I needed was a HDMI port, charging port for my laptop and a couple usb ports, but this hub actually include many different features. There is a magnificent Ethernet port that delivers internet access reliably. The VGA port and HDM port allow for 2 possible monitors to be used simultaneously. The HDMI port creates a crystal clear display with 4K resolution, and quick refresh rate. The USB-A ports offer up to 5 Gbps data transfer and quick charging. The compact design allows for me to easily bring this hub from one place to another.
Perfect solution for my slim laptop with few port My slim laptop has few port for external device like 1 USB 3.0 Port, 1 HDMI Port, 1 USB Type-C Port for the slim and light design So I cannot use USB more devices than 2. And sometimes I need to use monitor with VGA plug, then I would spend time to find VGA to HDMI gender for it. Even I cannot use wired lan until buying this multi port. It is real awesome. It has 10 ports like USB 2.0, USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA Port, Wired Lan and various memory card slots.. Even it has wired lan port. I can use 2 external monitors and can charge my laptop and smartphone though PD port of this multi port. Because it uses USB Type-C connection, its response is quite fast and stable. I have never experienced not connection and disconnected. And I could share SD card with smartphone, so data transferring from smartphone to computer is so convenient. And it works well with smartphone, so sometimes I bring just smartphone for working outside with this multi port and folding KBD. Design is good and the aluminum body is so sturdy. It is really good and recommend it strongly.
I bought this for my new MacBook Pro 2019. It's a really small adapter solution to get back all lost ports to MacBook Pro. It hardly takes any space on my desk. Because of this adapter, my desk looks clutter-free and organized. Its build quality is excellent. All ports are working as claimed in description. Also this color match with my MacBook Pro Space Grey. In this price, it's a great product. I highly recommend it.
Durable, Fast, Works Great, Looks Great I bought this for my new 2019 MacBook Pro. I do have to say that I had a fright with this when I first plugged it in, it wasn't sending a 4K signal, but I rebooted the MacBook and it detected the device completely and all full 4K resolutions were available, so if you run into that, simply reboot your computer and it'll work great. Happy with this one, and it looks super nice, like an enclosure by LaCie or something, it's a full metal enclosure. I'm really happy with it, was excited to get it out and plug it in - the Insignia one from Best Buy was white, really ugly - but this one looks like it belongs with your Mac. Easy five stars.
Great for the price This little guy works well with MacBook Pro. Have an external monitor, ethernet, and random usb stuff plugged in and it works quite well.
So Far, So Good! My decision to purchase this multiport adapter was based on price, variety of ports, number of USB ports, power delivery support, and aesthetics. The only thing missing is USB 3.1* ports (10Gbps!), Display Port (DP), and one or two additional USB-C ports for data transfer. I've been putting this unit through the paces for two weeks now. Performs very well. Yes, it does get warm (not hot), but this is the nature of the beast when power delivery (PD) is involved. The body is aluminum and dissipates heat well. I cannot comment on durability/longevity yet, but the unit feels great in my hands. I currently have this plugged into a 2016 12" MacBook with stock charger, as well as a Numark NS7III (DJ controller). No hiccups yet!
Excellent portable hub I have had this with my MacBook Pro for over a month of moderate to intense use and it has performed flawlessly. It has everything that I need, and it's extremely portable and well designed. There is a few seconds delay to detect SD Cards and ethernet, and it gets slightly warm. However, this is nothing to worry about. I returned a similar product, twice as expensive, that experience the same delays and got hot to the point that it was painful to touch and made me worried about a fire hazard. I mean to say this is a great little hub, it has exceeded my expectations, and I will buy it again. I will update my review if any issue arises. 2019/11/2: Since updating to macOS Catalina, I am experiencing issues every time I unplug and later plug the hub. I have to restart the MBP every single time to make it work with the hub. It is also happening with a wired Mac keyboard and a wireless Logitech mouse, so the probable culprit should be the software. I will update if and when resolved.
A pretty solid type-c hub Bought this for connecting my laptop to a pretty old monitor (by today's standards) and a bunch of accessories in the office. The monitor didn't have hdmi and connecting via vga was my only option since there was only vga cables spare, so I picked up this hub because it had a vga port. Very happy that it supported the monitor's 1920x1200 resolution with no problem. Also tried charging with it. My laptop charges with PD 65W and the hub handled it pretty well. Not much heat was felt during the charging. These are the two biggest requirements for me. Other than that, also tried plugging in a wired mouse and even some USB-driven lab instruments, all of them worked fine. Overall a solid quality type-c hub! Makes a great dock for modern laptops with thunderbolt 3 ports available. I'm happy with the purchase.
I really like this 10 in 1 type c hub. I bought this because of my new MacBook Pro. The design is fantastic. Right now, I can work with MacBook Pro at anywhere with this 10 in 1 hub. The quality is very good with metal cover. The price is also compatible among the similar products. Good choice.
Anybody with a modern slim notebook or tablet is almost certainly going to need this device. Additionally you may also find the computer is lacking an ethernet port which means wifi is your only option to connect to the internet. I'm impressed by it's quality build, which feels really solid and has a very professional appearance. I'm still amazed by how much is packed into this small metal box that weighs practically nothing at all. The SD and microSD card reader ports were must haves for me since I'm a photographer and they both worked perfectly. I give this device 5 stars for durability, material quality, and versatility. I highly recommend this product!
The company has allocated a computer, but the USB interface is not enough, there is no network interface, the choice finally decided this one, as long as you look at the online material can be put away, not occupy space, try it by hand, the network interface runs at full speed, there is no problem, not only the interface is not enough to solve the problem, but also conveniently. Make a dock for your outdated Mat10, and learn about it by changing the second of your cell phone to a computer? Aluminum alloy shell, feel really good
Awesome USB-C HUB The best USB hub I've ever seen. Very good quality and it comes with Plenty of usb 3.0 ports and also has multi display ports.
Work great and affordable The hub works perfectly with my computer. This is amazing because it doesn’t use up another of my very few USB hubs on my computer, it plugs right into the USB C port. It’s compatible with most devices, since it has so many different ports.
Good All-Purpose Meets all advertised specs. Cable on Hub is short, needed to add a short extension cable since all USB C ports are in back of the HP All-In-One computer. Not a biggie.
Personal carriage The use of this USB hub is very satisfactory. It looks very neat and beautiful in appearance. Also, it has many interfaces and strong expansion performance that I need in my daily life, because it is small in size, light in weight and easy to accept. I will take it when I travel.
This is very good, l like it very much! Logistics is fast,Businessmen have a good attitude,The product is very good and comfortable to use,Good quality and low price, I will come to this store to shop in the future it is very good l like it very much,It deserves to be praised by Five Star

Works correctly under full load w/o crashing or overheating Works exactly as described. Has 4 USB ports and has passthrough charging
Great docking hub I like how compact this USB C docking hub is. Since I am going to college this will make for a great add on to my computer to allow me to have more USB ports and an ethernet port while still not taking up much space on my desk. It pretty much has every port my computer doesn't have which is convenient. My only complaint is that it only has 100M Ethernet instead of gigabit.
UHD display on Pixelbook quality Works great and much better than my prior solution. I use primarily to drive my UHD display on my Pixelbook and it works great.
Great This is just what I was looking for. It works well and has all of the connections I need.
Just what the newer laptops need. I needed a couple of extra ports for my new laptop and was shopping on Amazon and found this Docking Station. It gave me the ports that I needed and some that I didn't know that I needed. Excellent product, well designed and well build.
Works great Works great with my Surface book. Has everything I need.
Works like a champ I bought this for a docking station for my HP Chromebook. I have tried out multiple monitors and televisions and all work without any issues. As a bonus it also works with my S8 Galaxy. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is If I can extend the screen rather than mirror. This could just be a Chromebook issue rather than an issue with the device. All in all I am quite happy.
Good quality We were in the market for a docking station to work from home. We purchased this one and it was easy to connect. I am not terribly familiar with docking stations so I bought the wrong one. We needed to extend on two monitors and a laptop. This model didn't do what we needed to. It's too bad because I would have liked to keep it since it was straight forward and easy to use.
Worked. Great HUB. Works good as described. Thanks to seller for fast shipping.
It works! Great! Laptop has 3 USB (Type A?) and one USB Type C. I needed the 3 "Standard- TypeA?" USB's for the Oculus Rift but I still needed 2 more "Standard" USB's - one for the mouse and one for an External Hard Drive. This works perfectly. It's what I needed. There was a coupon for $15 off which made this a very competitive price compared to the competition.
Recoupment. Good price and quality Works well, no issues. Ergonomic design. Receiver on time. Compatible with all the ports that I use.
Like it I bought these to interface with a new device. It appears to be well made and is small enough for anyone needing a portable solution.
Good quality So far, this adapter works properly, doesn't reduce charge time and looks like the quality item should look like. Hope for long happy life for it
Highly recommended It’s good connection with my new iPad Pro. This is the best one I got, the quality when you touched you will see the different, highly recommended!!!!!!!!!
Can use old micro-usb charger Using it to charge my usb-c phone with an old micro-usb charger, cool to be able to reuse some of the old cables, and no need to get a zillion more new usb-c cables.
Good USB hub. This is my second USB-C hub. I first got a Lenovo one for 200 dollars or so. That one did not survive a three feet fall and cracked. Lenovo won't replace for me. This POWLAKEN USB-C hub is a good replacement but a lot cheaper. I use an external projector (1080p) and plug into ethernet directly. This is the perfect product for my need! The device does get warm when using USB port and the HDMI port at end of the day, but not too hot to touch. The size is perfect fitting into my computer bag. I'm really very satisfied with this product.
Perfect Accessory I can't believe how handy this thing is. I got it to use with my MacBook Pro 13inch (model2159). Well made, looks good, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I feel like this is worth the higher price tag considering all the connectivity options it provides.
Amazing product! This hub is great!!!! It has a port for anything you may ever need!
Great USB hub This is the second USB-C hub. The previous was a Dell brand, which I thought would be a good product for me as I am using a Dell XPS 13 laptop, however the dang thing died after 2 months of light use. Dell was not able to fix the problem for me. When I saw POWLAKEN had their own solution to a USB-C hub, I knew I needed it. I use an external monitor (1080p) for school with a wired keyboard. I also really like having the option of plugging into ethernet directly. This is the perfect product for my needs. It has been a super reliable plug-and-play hub. The device does not get hot at all (I'm not even sure I'd call it warm) even when using 4 USB ports and the HDMI port for a couple of hours. The size is perfect, and it plugs snugly into the USB-C port on my Dell. There is a small indicator light on the hub which does not bother at all when all lights are off. I'm really very happy with this product, it has been very worth the money for me.
Very pleased with the hub. Awesome design. Lightweight material. All port you need in one hub.
I ordered it on the 11th and it came the next day. The packaging was simple, and am happy it is all one piece. I immediately plugged everything in, my 4 USB devices and power. Everything worked instantly. I did not have to load any strange drivers or install any applications. This just worked the moment i plugged it in. The laptop sits on top of it, and gives it a small gap for air to circulate also. The monitor can also be left open or closed and it keeps it stable. I love that it is only ONE cable that needs to plug into your mac. The biggest selling point is that this has a 1G/Mbps ethernet connection, as opposed to the others I had in the past which were only 100 Mbps I would recommend this to anyone who has a mac and a home office.
Just what I needed for my Mac Book Pro I have bought multiple devices to hook up to my Mac Book but this one provides me everything I need in one compact package. It is small and compact but big enough to feel like I am not going to break off the connections in the computer if some one hits or bumps me. It is excellent for travel. I currently purchased a second one to use in my office as a docking station.
Sturdy, affordable little dock
Handy, portable, essential attachment for my mac
This is AWESOME. What the hell. This is exactly what i needed on every level. I needed a way to use my Roland A-800 MIDI keyboard controller with my iPad Pro 11. This does that splendidly. With only the USB-C port that comes on the iPad I’m able to plug the USB keyboard into my iPad (and it powers the USB Keyboard, so no AC adapter needed), get audio out from the iPad via the 1/8th inch jack, AND power my iPad with the USB-C port on the hub. Not to mention all the other goodies like the HDMI hookup etc. It also seems like a really well made product. Really hope it lasts! One small thing- i had to Set the USB Advanced Driver Setting in the A-Pro to "Off." in the Roland keyboard. Very Simple. Just google it.
Excellent for Mac users This is exactly what I am looking for! Everyone knows that new MacBook Pro only has USB 3 connector. It is a hassle for me to carry all different connectors, USB 2, HDMI, Card reader, just name a few. They are all “expensive “! Yes, OEM Apple brand costs a fortune. This little hub combined everything together in a small form and provides all the functions I have been looking for. Easy for travel, good performance. I like it so far
Easy way to get everything you need out of a USB-C/Thunderbolt port on your Laptop. If like me you have one of these annoying new laptops where they've done away with all of the common ports in the name of keeping the product "sleek," carrying this USB-C hub with you in your laptop bag is an easy and relatively cheap way to make sure you can connect your USB 3.0 peripherals, plug into external screens/monitors/projectors, read flash media cards, and all the other stuff you used to be able to do with your 6lb legacy laptop that now chokes on Windows 10. The build quality on the hub is pretty nice. It's got a sturdy-feeling metallic enclosure and the ports don't have the "cheap" feel that many low-cost peripherals do these days. My only minor gripe was that the USB-C lead cable felt a little stiff out of the box, but it hasn't been an issue.
Works as expected.
Everything you need and it works just fine! Just one dongle on one port to take care of everything including charging my MacBook Pro and it works great! 4k monitor works at 30hz and full 4k resolution. No 60hz support at 4k so if you're a gamer or serious movie person who must have that, pay attention. The HDMI and Ethernet ports work as does the mic/headset jack. Great audio quality! Connector fits well. Haven't had an opportunity to test VGA port.
I purchased an HP Spectre x360 particularly because of how light it is. Ultraportable laptops are now sacrificing usability to make them slimmer. I need an SD card reader to often transfer photos from my camera, and this laptop did not have one. This is where this hub comes into play. I used to watch movies on the TV over HDMI with my older laptop, but unfortunately this laptop did not have one. The hub fixes that as well. I occasionally need an Ethernet port, and this hub also brings that back! It is annoying having to carry one more product with you, but I guess you have to do it nowadays. The product itself is very sturdy and is a very premium product for the price. The color is silver but under certain lighting conditions, it appears to have a shade of purple which is kind of cool. I will update my review when I am able to use this product to its fullest potential but for what it has done so far, I am happy!
This is a very practical and well built USB-C hub. It has a good variety of USB connections as well as the all critical USB power delivery (PD) passthrough! Not only do a lot of other USB-C hubs not have this as an option but the ones that do don't have enough power for most laptops or devices. Built quality: The built of this device is very high quality. Made from an aluminum allow that's very sturdy, no creaks, bends or flexing. Very nice. Ports: Three full speed USB 3.0 5Gbs ports is a god send. Most other USB-C hubs have 2 USB 3.0 ports and maybe one other USB 2.0 port, so the addition of a third port is very nice. All ports were tested and delivery the rated speed as advertised. All the other ports work as expected and the only other port that I'd like to see is a USB-C for data as well as PD but it's not biggie because I have a lot of USB-C to USB-A adapters. Power delivery (PD) passthrough: This is the real reason I purchased this USB-C hub! The other two USB-C hubs I have don't have this as an option and it was sorely missed. This allows me to not only expand my ports but I can have all of my external devices connected and not have to worry about running out of battery. Other than that, this USB-C hub is very small and compact making it perfect for portability and I don't have to hunt for cables because the there is one included.
USB C hub for iPad Perfect USB C hub for use specifically with iPad, but I'm sure it'll work with computers too. I bought it to be able to import video files from SD and micro SD into my iPad and nothing else I've purchased has seemed to work this well. I can also charge it while using the dongle AND it has a headphone jack. If you didn't know, the 2018 iPad Pro does not have a headphone jack, or an SD card reader, but this dongle/adapter allows you to do it all. Now I can edit from my iPad seamlessly with the use of this one dongle. So glad I found this product!
We were told that USB-C laptops are the future, but this adaptor really makes the promise a reality. Fitting all manner of ports - legacy, standard, and USB-C - this hub allows me to easily use my HP Spectre x360 without worry of compatibility. The power passthrough is especially handy: I can literally do everything I need with my laptop, using only one port! Another handy situation is when traveling: With this one hub, I am (almost guaranteed) to have whatever I need to connect with projectors, media, and more. One hub to rule them all! The build quality feels great, and I'm impressed at the diminutive size. Time will tell if it holds up, but it sure feels durable. Step into the future without leaving the past behind - this hub delivers.
Well, I think it’s hot a bit when all ports working. Still works fine.
USB-C Hub delivers on the promise
I am pretty surprised at how good this hub is. It is built entirely with metal and it feels as premium as my laptop itself. Additionally, they somehow matched the space gray color perfectly (the picture doesn't really do it justice). I have a pretty insane monitor setup so I only have one usable thunderbolt port left so I was looking for something that could charge my laptop, support all of my peripherals, etc. While I don't really need them, having the extra video outputs will really help especially when connecting to projectors. I don't have any VGA cables around but I can confirm the HDMI port works perfectly. Finally the SD card adapter is a very useful addition since I regularly need to export media from my camera and Apple thought it would be smart to remove the SD card slot. Overall I am very happy with the product and would recommend it to my friends.
Best USB C Hub There Is
was shopping for a USB C hub because my new computer does not have enough USB ports. There are two USB C ports available and I figured I would try to use them! This product is well built, with metal enclosure on 4 sides. The front and back sides are made of plastic and seems to be a port of the internal structure. I have tested it on my computer. All the USB ports work fine, as well as the SD and microSD card slots. The ethernet port is properly recognized as 10/100/1000. Display port and VGA port didn't work for me, but I believe that is because my computer does not support video output through the USB C ports. One thing I have noticed is that the hub itself can run rather warm. I suppose the aluminum enclosure helps it dissipate the heat. Overall, it is a well-built product.
Super lightweight with powerful functionality Pros: - All the ports work as advertised, and the bus is capable enough to handle multiple simultaneous devices - Has all the features of a fully fledged docking station to turn a laptop into desktop workstation - Incredibly light Cons: - Main USB-C connector hangs off the end and cannot be neatly stowed away for packing I've been using this device for about a week, and have no complaints about its performance; It's connected to a most-recent generation MacBook Pro and seamlessly handles everything asked of it: I have the following devices connected and use all or some in combination: 1Gb Ethernet, HDMI to 24" monitor, 1Tb external disk, USB keyboard; I've tested every port on the device, and they all work without having to install drivers, or configure anything. It just works. Very happy with this purchase!
LOVE IT !! Highly recommend ..... Solves all my HUB problems.
I always use a hub while presenting. I have to have the presentation mouse and the regular mouse plugged in. It's much easier to keep their dongles on my hub and plug that in. Then, I also toss in a short cable for charging my phone while I present. So, when I changed laptops to a newer model (Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 if it matters), I found I needed a new hub to go with the USB C plug. This one is excellent. Further, I used to carry a second USB to HDMI connector as a backup to regular dongles. Well, now, my hub includes the HDMI and VGA. This is incredibly useful. Toss in the ethernet and the SD card reader as bonuses, and this hub is awesome. The material and construction seem very good. It's not too big. It's fairly light. Very much a new tool for the road warrior.
Works for Mac OS! Many ports! Quality build!
Perfect for lightweight laptops. I love this hub. I recently purchased a new, slim Lenovo Yoga 730 15" . It's a nice laptop but it lacks any basic ports. This USB C hub solves all my problems for this laptop. The cable is sturdy, so the hub won't move around a lot. It's of good quality and goes well with a silver laptop. It's very light, so it goes with my desire for lightweight travels; the difference in weight on back is negligible. It has a variety of very useful ports that any laptop should have. I tested each port and compared their speeds and quality to my "desktop" laptop ( it weighs like 15 lbs / 7 kg ) that has the same ports as this hub. The ports from this hub performed perfectly, doing just as well as my laptop's built-in ports. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a lightweight laptop and needs more ports. Ethernet and HDMI ports are extremely important for school work (ethernet for at home, HDMI for presentations)
I've had a chance to test everything on this adapter except for the card readers and the extra USB-C port; I'm using it on my Lenovo laptop with Windows. The headphone jack isn't as loud as the one on my laptop but it's still plenty loud with regular headphones. The VGA did not work with my TV, but it does work on a standalone computer screen so I am just guessing it's something with my TV. The VGA automatically projected a widescreen image onto my non-widescreen standalone monitor; I am not sure if I can change the resolution from my computer but I have not tried. It seems to recognize the adapter as a "1080p60" widescreen monitor, even with the VGA port. The HDMI, USB ports, and Ethernet port all work well. I like that the packaging was a simple, recyclable cardboard box. The cord was a little stiff when I took it out of the box but it seems better after using it for a couple weeks.
Disclaimer, I'm receiving this product for free in exchange for an honest review. 2019-08-27 - Ordered the unit 2019-08-28 - Received the unit The product arrived very quickly from the seller, and was well packaged. First looks put it at a reasonable solid unit. clean lines, no gaps in the seams. good weight. Initial tests indicate the unit is working on my Windows 10 1809 with no driver install. Shows up as USB2.0 BILLBOARD device, but when you eject it says Safe to remove USB3.1 eXtensible host controler. Will need to check the speed to see if we're 2.0 or 3.1. The vga port passes the monitor information through just fine and the HDMI port works. Slight drawback, they are not separate devices. They only seem to cast the same image (even simultaneously) , so if you're looking to add 2 monitors with this device, it isn't for you. Interestingly, they continue to work after "ejecting" the device from windows 10. USB pass through also seems to be working for flash drives.
Very good USB-C dongle. Stuttering issues with 4K monitor. Fix is in my review.
Great build quality, the most useful ports and connections, small & portable
One dongle for so many ports - must required tech support with limited USB port system.
Versatility for your USB C laptop I recently purchased a MacBook Air (with a grand total of two--count'em, two--USB C ports. I understand ports have to be limited to keep the laptop sleek and for other engineering reasons (I guess?), but I sure did miss the ability to plug in a non-USB C device (printer, ethernet, HDMI, etc). I looked around for some options, but found everything I researched either lacking in quality reviews or lacking in affordable pricing. Moreover, many of the dongle options out there don't include wired ethernet. That was a must-have for me. This item has 3 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port, VGA port, ethernet, TF and SD slots, and an additional USB C port. I find it to be well constructed of aluminum and with a solid-feeling cord. I'm early in my usage, but it is meeting my needs so far. It's extremely portable and fits easily in my briefcase so that I'm prepared for whatever need I encounter while I'm traveling. Great product so far! I'll update if anything happens to make me revise this assessment.
Awesome- finally something that works with everything
Great quality, looks sharp, very portable, tested well
Exactly as advertised
Gives me much better access to media and monitors. (Should come with a teenager.)
I just received the usb c hub in the mail after quick 2 day shipping. I instantly plugged it into my iPad Pro 11” and tested out all the ports. All of them worked perfectly and seamlessly with the iPad. I did notice that I can not have access to two different SD cards but I believe that’s an iPad issue not this product. It seems pretty well built and solid. I love the size of this, it will fit perfectly into any backpack for travel it’s about half the size of my phone. Highly recommended
Leaving for a trip soon and I looked for a hub that was compatible with my smartphone so that I could offload the hundreds of pictures I take with my DSLR every day on trips. Previously, I was taking out the microSD card and putting it in the combined sim card/SD card slot of my phone, but that gets annoying. I wanted a quicker solution without having to take off my phone case every time. The hub is well built and made of aluminum. It is sturdy and pretty lightweight. The hub has a ton of built in ports and connectivity. I know I can use this with my gaming laptop as well if I want to use it as a dock at home, but again, my concern was for on the road. I do wish the cable was a tiny bit longer though. Plugging in the dock with a SD card was not an issue. The storage showed up immediately on my phone and I could access all the pictures I had taken for the day. Easy and quick enough to sort through all the pictures before uploading them to the cloud. Then I can wipe the SD card and start over the next day. Yes, I have multiple SD cards too in case I shoot even more than expected in one day, but it's nice to able to offload every evening. All this works perfectly even while charging the phone. Just a very nice hub that will be extremely useful for me!
This view may be more of a commentary about me rather than the iDrive tech USB-C hub. I travel a lot between Europe and the US and while I’m in Europe I take a lot of photographs and video. I prefer my newer Macbook to my older PC laptop, but there is no easy way to upload my media to it for editing. My son told me to get a USB-C hub and mentioned a couple of models, which I promptly forgot. I ended up with the Falwedi based on price and reviews. It arrived in two days and my first impression was that this was a solid piece of equipment. It seems to be really well made. Inside the box is a fold out set of instructions. This is where the commentary about me comes in – I read the instructions for over an hour and learned nothing! OK, I’m no spring chicken but I still consider myself to be pretty savvy. So, putting the instructions aside, I just tried something simple, connecting the attached USB-C cable to my Macbook and inserting an SD card in the slot. Bingo! It worked. Then I tried a microSD. It didn’t. But then I realized that the two slots probably use the same contacts, so you could only use one at a time. Sure enough, I removed the full-size SD card and the micro worked. Still, this would be too much to pay for just a card reader. But, gaining confidence, I disconnected the HDMI cable from my Blu-Ray player and connected it to the HDMI socket. Wow, it worked too – a 55-inch screen instead of 12 inches. I am not sure if I will ever use that but certainly being able to connect it to my 32-inch monitors both here and abroad, will make my editing much easier. By now my son had arrived. It turns out the Falwedi was not the one he recommended but, after just a few minutes, he was impressed. I gave him the instructions which I had found so challenging – he glanced at them and set them aside. Within five minutes, he had connected the hub into my network, giving me access to my remote hard drive and printer and a stand alone DVD player/burner and a bigger monitor, with just one connection - brilliant! He says it is just as good as the more expensive model he has. We did not try the audio jack, but he thinks I will be able to use it for voice overs on my video. That will be useful, and I will update this review if it works. So, to sum up, if you know what you are doing, or have a teenager to advise you, this is a good buy. If not, you will have to be better at reading instructions than I am, or use the trial and error method of just plugging things into the various sockets. I will mention here that it does not seem to connect with my AndroidOne phone, but quite often, when I think the phone is charging, it isn’t, so I suspect the phone USB-C socket is faulty. I am getting a new phone soon, and I will update this review when I have it.
Perfect! Using this with a Samsung S10. This is the third adapter like this I've purchased. This one does everything I need. It works with Samsung DeX. A note to use Samsung official accessories for the best experience did popup. This works better than my official Samsung adapter. I've not tried the headphone port, but everything else just works. HDMI output is a beautiful clear picture. Ethernet port is fast, USB ports work for storage. I've already ordered a small keyboard to plug in & try. I'm not sure how well it will work? SD & Micro SD slots work well. USB C port charges the phone. Picture came up from the VGA port. I was just testing it out, so I switched back to HDMI once I saw it worked. The USB ports are all 3.0. This has more ports than you probably need (more than the Samsung adapter), charges your phone, runs DeX, USB sticks - for about $50 less than the Samsung branded version.
Right out of the box this product looks and feels good in the hands. Has quick, easy to read instructions and descriptions throughout so it didn't leave me to much in question how much power I can push in it, transfer rates or other technical specs that are important to me. Quick overview of it: * Supports 100W USB C power in with 87W power out (power supply not included) * 1G Ethernet with blinking lights so you can see activity * VGA and HDMI support but when connected to my laptop I can't display 3 screens at once. This could be due to the lack of power supply, I can't say without one on hand. I was able to get 3 screens (laptop, 2 mirrors monitors) to display through my thunderbolt port but not the USB-C port. Also the HDMI and VGA ports are on different sides which reduces the tightness I get from others when plugging in dual displays into small docks. The instructions don't quite match up with current Windows 10 setup. I have used other docks with this system and was able to have 3 displays but they also had power supplies for them and I don't have one to test with on this. * 3.5mm Audio Output * 3 x USB3.0 ports (2 on one side, 1 on the other) * SD/TF Card reader Pros: *Lightweight *Sturdy Feeling with metal formed body *Supports many devices without power supply *Very travel friendly Cons: *very short cable from dock *no provided power supply *no case to carry safely Overall - Straight from the box this is a great product for the price. Minus not having a power supply provided, if you have a device that utilizes USB C charging capability you can use your charging device on the dock and pass through for charging and extension of accessories. Fun hint: I connected the device to my Samsung Note 8 with all the accessories still attached (USB stick, mouse, keyboard, ethernet, 2 displays and audio. It pulled up the Samsung Dex program. That was surely an added bonus for me
The purchase mistake that turned into my favorite thing. So I got this thinking it was for the computer. When I opened it and realized it was for the phone, it was one of those moments when it should have had angelic music playing & a golden glow coming from the box! Where has this thing been my whole life!!! I work with a youtube channel that explores abandoned & haunted places. Getting everyone's footage after an outing is a nightmare. But now I can collect it all in the field and not drag a laptop around. I can think of a million reasons why people need this! Imagine going to a wedding, family reunion, graduation.... well any event or outing where there are several people taking photos & videos. Bring along a little usb drive or SD card and this little baby & BOOM you can collect everyone's videos & pics immediately. I haven't tested it using adapters with iphones or micro usb, so I don't know if that will work, when I do I will update this review. I actually love this little gadget so much, we are going to add a review of it to our youtube channel (Skeptical Edge TV) and probably pick up one more!
Great device, serviceable build quality This is a nice all-in-one adapter for USB-C laptops, tablets, and phones. I tested it with a 2017 MacBook Pro, a 2018 Acer Swift 3, and a 2019 Xiaomi Mi 9. All the functions that I tested worked exactly as expected. However, as a piece of general advice, you need to know what features your device supports over USB-C. For example, my MacBook Pro could do video-out as expected using this adapter, but my Swift 3 and Mi 9 can't-- not because there's anything wrong with this adapter, but just because those two devices don't support video-out over USB at all (NO adapter on the market will work with those). Similarly, audio over USB-C is kind of a mess, with different device manufacturers supporting different kinds of audio adapters. This adapter worked with the MacBook for outputting audio to headphones, but not with my Mi 9. (Conversely, the headphones adapter I use for my Mi 9 does NOT work with my MacBook Pro, so again, it's nothing wrong with this specific adapter... USB-C audio implementation is just a mess across different devices.) Build quality is OK. It doesn't feel premium or expensive, but it also doesn't feel cheap or "creaky". It's fairly large because it has to be (VGA and Ethernet ports are quite tall, after all), so if you're looking for an extremely portable adapter for an extremely specific purpose, this model might not be the best choice. But overall it's an excellent, versatile choice overall because it supports just about everything you might need to plug into a laptop these days.
To be honest, I didn't have high hopes for this hub as I have tried MANY USB-C hubs in the past and have been let down. Some of these hubs in my past have come DOA, some didn't work without a bunch of drivers, some overheated, some had 50% of ports working, etc., etc. I could go on and on about my bad experiences. This experience though has been different! Upon arrival, I unboxed the hub and immediately plugged everything into it. I didn't look or install drivers - I just plugged it in. To my surprise, everything worked out of the box. I went from having to carry three adapters with me and having four cables plugged in to only have one cable plugged in and only carrying one adapter. I currently have the hub plugged into a 2018 MacBook Pro. Plugged into the hub is a 1080p monitor via VGA, a USB 3.0 hub, my MacBook Pro's power cable, Ethernet, and at times, headphones. It handles it all perfectly. The hub gets slightly warm but nowhere near as hot as others that I have tried. My only complaint is that when I have headphones plugged in, it won't let me change the volume because it thinks the audio output is the monitor (the one that's plugged in via VGA). In conclusion, I would highly recommend this hub and I may buy another one to keep at work.
Works for Mac OS! Many ports! Quality buit! And Super portable! I’ve never heard of this brand before. Since the price is reasonable, and it offers many connection ports, I decided to give it a try. Being a grad student and working on data, I’d like to connect my Macbook pro to another bigger screen, imports files to a portable hard drive for backup, and be able to charge my iphone occasionally while using the macbook (Apple should have included USB-C to lightning cable in the package too, right?). Upon receiving, I’m pleasantly surprised with the Falwedi USB-C hub built quality. The metallic material gives it a very sturdy feeling. Also, the color match with the Macbook perfectly. Using the iDrivetech hub, I’m able to connect to another HDMI monitor, Logitech USB keyboard/mouse, portable hard drive, USB-C charging, and a spare USB-A port for phone charging, all at the same time. Also, I was able to play DVD by plugging directly into the hub via the USB-A port (which I was not able to do using the Dell USB-C to USB-A adapter) and using the portable hard drive simultaneously. I didn’t test the ethernet port and the audio port because the Macbook already has an audio port, and I don’t need the ethernet, yet. The hub saves me from at least carrying 2 dongles: 1 for USB C to USB A (for charging the iphone or transfer data to portable hard drives), and 1 USB-C to HDMI/VGA (for presentation or 2nd monitor). If you have the Apple MacBook that has only 2 USB C ports, this product is for you. Not only that it has all the connection ports that you’d need, but it also leaves one USB-C port for additional need, such as connecting another display. In addition, I try to compare how long it takes to fully charge my MacBook from 72% via the hub vs. directly into the USC-C port. And charging directly into the USB-C hub is about 10% faster. Using the iDrivetech hub: 1hr 41 mins Directly: 1 hour 31 mins Advantages: - Reasonable price - Small and compact - Build quality is good and sturdy - HDMI and VGA output - 3x USB-A ports - SD card reader - Charging port Room for improvements: - The hub gets hot while using (about the same temperature/warmness of holding a hot Starbucks coffee cup) - Probably faster charging time?
This is a great USB-C hub. I like the versatility. I would have layed the port locations out a little bit differently maybe...but it gets the job done. I have used it for a few hours at a time and haven't had any overheating issues. I did notice my display would cut out and then return moments later every once in a while, and I'm not sure if this is due to the hub or my device. It was well worth the money.
Very Impressed, Works as Dex Device for Samsung Phones So this device impressed me quite a bit, I was concerned because I wasn't sure if it'd work as a Dex hub for Samsung Galaxy Phones, but it sure does! This device also works on other USB-C Compatible devices, such as laptops & desktops that have the C-type socket. Pros: *Heavy Duty materials, feels very well made and structurally sound - including thick cable *Allows you to screen share to BOTH the HDMI & VGA port at the SAME TIME when using Dex mode! *Can use very port on the device at the same time, including charging your phone through the USB-C connector *Plug & Play, no software installation required Cons: (or really, the neutrals) *The USB-C socket on the device can only be used to charge the HOST device plugged into the USB-C cable. This is standard for these type devices, but it would have been cool to charge external devices from the USB-C host or use the USB-C for data transfer. *The SD card & micoSD card slots are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, meaning that the device can only read one at a time. This is also standard for SD card readers, and wasn't really expecting anything different - but wanted to be thorough. *The device gets *WARM* (but never HOT) depending on the load. During my testing, I was using everything I could and charging, and it only warm, never reached the point where I'd call it HOT. Overall, very satisfied.
Ultimate hub for MacBook Pro Since I first bought my MacBook Pro it was a huge disappointment that it only had usb c inputs on it. I could t use any of my flash drives or as cards, I had to keep going to my pc and syncing it via Dropbox. While shopping on amazon I came across the iDrivetech 10 in 1 hub. When it first came in I just quickly looked at it, upon further inspection I came to notice it complements the color of my MacBook very well, identical in color which is perfect. Each port works as expected, the only one I couldn’t test was the Ethernet port since I have WiFi in the house. I recommend this product to anyone with the same MacBook. This is an excellent product.
Problem solved!! 9 in 1 adapter for my MacBook Pro! Problem solver!! I have a client that requires I use a hard line for my internet connection, and my MacBook Pro doesn't have a way for me to do that. I bought an adapter from apple, but it was much more expensive than this hub, and it has only 1/3 as many ports - it simply doesn't do everything I need it to do. So I ordered this after seeing my son's recently purchased hub device work so well for him. His was good, but I needed more options. Enter this awesome hub! This allows me to use my external monitor, a hard line for the internet, my wireless keyboard and mouse, headphones, and I don't have to unplug anything to read a memory card! I can do more than I currently need, but I am sure that in time I will find new ways to use it even more. NINE possibilities! I am hooked and now it is a permanent part of my electronics essentials pack. The hub is very lightweight, probably some sort of aluminum casing, but it hasn't gotten hot at all and I've been using it for a couple days now.
Makes USB-C work with other stuff "We are living in this era, that, for now, we need adapters for almost everything. In this case, you will need a dongle that can do most, and well, for a low price. That's why, after incessant searching, I decided buying this. USB C hub is very thin, so it fits in my Macbook Case, and it has a nice color. I bought the space grey to match my model, but it has all the MBP colors, so you will be satisfied for sure. I chose the one with the long cable because the one that sits flush with the computer does not work with a case on the computer, so keep that in mind. I would go with the cable one for the main reason that in the future you might opt on buying a protective case for the computer, and that will render the dongle unuseable. Overall, nice build, nice features, great product! Go ahead and buy it, for me, it was the best option of them.
Doesn't overheat; this one fixes all the issues my old one had. Plus it is a sleek looking device. I had to upgrade from my previous USB C Hub that would overheat. This would cause issues with my dual monitor setup. It would disconnect consistently after about an hour or so. It was annoying so I decided to upgrade to one with better heat dissipation features. Along comes the iDrivetech Hub. When I purchased this hub, I had low expectations because: 1. It's an unknown brand and 2. It is such a low price To my surprise this works amazingly well and completely exceeds my expectations. The device itself is pretty sleek and well built. Feels more expensive than it is. Also, my dual monitor setup no longer causes issues after an hour, or at all. Everything else works just fine and as intended (usb drives, sd card slots, ethernet ports.. etc) Glad I went with this one to ease my frustrations.
Adds every port you could possibly need I like USB hubs, they make thing so much easier to connect. This one took this to a whole new level and provided everything I can think to put into a single hub. You have USB ports, WIred Gigabit Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, Sound and card readers. That makes it ideal for a workstation where the laptop need to be made portable. Leave your printer, monitor, network, mouse and keyboard behind with a single cable. Tough case, compact design and kink-resistant cable; it even has a port for supplemental USB-C power. This is very well designed.
Great combination and portability! I got this because of the vga and hdmi ports. I use it for church and not all projectors are updated to hdmi compatibility and you usually find these ports having one or the other. To get one with both (AND WITH ETHERNET) is a great find! All the ports work fine for me as do what they were designed to do. Of course, don't forget to plug in the charger to the hub as it does need extra power if doing so many things. I love the carrying case as I keep this in my backpack and it sometimes gets a little crowded in there. The case keeps my hub from getting dusty or messy with other things. Glad I purchased this product!
No lag in data retrieval, allows me to use multiple devices at once This is pretty lightweight, I’d prefer something that feels a little more sturdy, but it works good all the same., a micro SD card, SD card, external hard drive, and power supply plugged into this thing and it didn’t lag a bit. I love that I can leave this plugged into my computer and allow the device itself to take the wear and tear, saving my laptop. This is a fantastic little invention, I needed it more than I knew.
